There are a few ways to apply for SSDI or SSI in FL.  You can call 1-800-772-1213 and set up an appointment at your local office.  The local SSA offices are listed by town at the bottom of each ODAR office listed below.  You can also apply for SSD on-line by going to the website listed at bottom of page.  SSI applications must be done at an office.  Click on following link for more information on applying for Social Security Disability in general.

Because Florida is experiencing an increasing backlogs in its cases at the hearing level SSA has plans to add two new Social Security disability hearing offices in Florida. They are expected to open new ODARs in St. Petersburg, FL and Tallahassee, FL. At this point I do not know when these new hearing offices will be open, but it is good news to know that the long wait times experienced by those waiting for a Social Security disability hearing in Florida may be reduced since SSA will soon be able to schedule more hearings in the state.
