Social Security Disability in Oregon including ODAR and Local SSA Office Address

On this page you will find information about Social Security Disability in OR.  This is just a very general discussion of SSDI in Oregon.

The important thing to know is that what you have to prove to get disability is the same in every state so I recommend you read my sites pages on the application process, ALJ hearings, the disability process, grid rules and "am I disabled".  Below you will find the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review addresses for Oregon.  This is were the Administrative Law Judges conduct hearings for the Social Security Administration in Oregon.  Below each address of the two ODAR offices is the location of the local SSA offices.  These local offices are were applications are filed and processed.
So how long does it take to get a SSDI or SSI decision?  At application it usually takes 3 to 6 months to get a decision and about the same amount of time at reconsideration.  If you lose at both of these stages then you go to the hearing stage.  At the bottom of the page you will find information on how long it takes to get a decision at the hearing stage.

You may have already decided you want a lawyer for your claim.  We handle cases nationwide but if you prefer we can help you find a local SSDI or SSI lawyer.  Just click the link below and fill out the form.

UPDATE:  The wait time from when you request a hearing to conclusion of your claim at the hearing level is 500 days at the Eugene, OR hearing office and 325 days at the Portland, OR hearing office as of June 27, 2008.  New funding to SSA has allowed for anew National Hearing Center (NHC) which was opened and will be hearing cases from Portland Oregon.  The Albuquerque NHC utilizes electronic video technology that enables Administrative Law Judges to hold disability hearings remotely throughout the country to reduce backlogs.  Albuquerque initially will hear disability cases for Kansas City and Portland, Oregon -- two of the most backlogged offices in the U.S.
